Clara Wagner (1891-1961)

From Minnesota, U.S.A., Clara Wagner was an American legend. At only 15 years old, she joined the Federation of American Motorcyclists (FAM). She competed in several races and was seen as the most experienced and successful female motorcyclist. In 1910, at 18 years old, she scored perfectly in a 360-mile FAM endurance race from Chicago to Indianapolis but was ultimately denied the trophy due to her gender. She was the daughter of the owner of the Wagner Motorcycle Company, which operated from 1901 to 1914.
